Register Your Drone
With the growing use of Unmanned Aircraft (drones and model aircraft, etc.), accidents and incidents of unauthorized flights have been frequent in recent years. Under such circumstances, the registration system for Unmanned Aircraft came into effect Under the Civil Aviation Act 2017. Acording to Air Navigation Order, all Unmanned Aircraft must be registered, and no flights of unregistered Unmanned Aircraft are allowed; except those that weighs less then 249 Grams either or range of transmission is less then 100 meter including everything that is on board or otherwise attached to the aircraft; or The UAS belongs to the Military, Paramilitary or Public Security Forces of Bangladesh
Drone registration requirements
1. A UAS shall be registered under this part only when the aircraft is not registered under the laws of a foreign country and is Owned by a Bangladesh citizen; Owned by an individual citizen of a foreign country lawfully admitted for permanent residence in Bangladesh; Owned by an organization not a citizen of the Bangladesh when the organization is doing business under the laws of the Bangladesh or and the aircraft is based and primarily used in Bangladesh; or A UAS of the Bangladesh Government unless falls under the cateory of State Aircraft. 2. You must be aged 16 or older to register a drone. 3. You must also have a remote pilot licence (RePL) unless only fly for sport or recreation of unregistered drones. 4. You must register it before you fly if you fly a drone. This applies to all drones you fly to provide any type of service, no matter how much the drone weighs. This may include activities such as: selling photos or videos taken from a drone. Survey & mapping, Inspection, Monitoring, Surveillance, Cinematography and private security services. selling photos or videos taken from a drone. research and development. any drone activities on behalf of your employer or business.
Penalties for flying an unregistered drone
You can be fined if you fly an unregistered drone. You can be asked to produce your certificate of registration by either: an authorised representative of CAAB a member of the Bangladesh Police.
Required Information for Drone Registration
To register a UAS in Bangladesh, a person must provide the information correctly as asked vide online registration form. Be a Bangladeshi citizen Applicant name, National ID (or Birth Certificate if below 18) and, for an applicant other than an individual, the name of the authorized representative applying for a Certificate of Aircraft Registration; Applicant's physical address and, for an applicant other than an individual, the physical address for the authorized representative and or the mailing address; Applicant's email address or, for applicants other than individuals, the email address of the authorized representative; The UAS manufacturer, model & Specification; Other information as required by the Chairman, CAAB.
Registration Criterion
a. Effective date of registration. An UAS is considered registered when the applicant receives a Certificate of UAS Registration for the specific UAS. The effective date of registration is shown by the date of issue on the Certificate of Aircraft Registration issued for the UAS; b. Registration renewal. A Certificate of Aircraft registration issued under this part expires two years after the date of issue unless it is renewed. A renewal certificate issued under this paragraph expires two years from the expiration date of the previous certificate; c. Other events affecting effectiveness of Certificate. Each Certificate of Aircraft Registration issued by the CAAB under this subpart is effective, unless registration has ended by reason of having been revoked, canceled, expired, or the ownership is transferred, until the date upon which one of the following events occurs: Subject to the Convention on the International Recognition of Rights in Aircraft when applicable, the aircraft is registered under the laws of a foreign country; The UAS is destroyed or scrapped; The holder of the Certificate of UAS Registration loses citizenship; Thirty days have elapsed since the death of the holder of the Certificate of UAS Registration; The owner, if an individual who is not a citizen of Bangladesh, loses status as a resident alien, unless that person becomes a citizen of the Bangladesh at the same time.
